Draft, model and frame — in one app
BuilderX Studio puts three workspaces behind one licence: AutoCAD-style 2D drafting, direct 3D modelling with a real solid kernel, and an ETABS-style structural workspace built on Indian material standards. Buy it on its own for unlimited projects on your own machine — or add it to a BuilderXPro plan and publish every drawing straight into your projects with full version history.

Stop reconciling three disconnected tools
Most teams draft in one package, model in another, and frame the structure in a third — then spend the week keeping them in agreement. BuilderX Studio keeps all three in the same file, on the same licence.

Workspace 01
2D Drafting
A full AutoCAD-style drafting environment. The command line drives everything, and the aliases your drafters already type — L, REC, C, TR, F, O — all work.
- 24 draw tools incl. splines, polygons & multiline text
- 27 modify tools incl. trim, fillet, arrays & stretch
- Full dimension family: linear, aligned, angular, radius, ordinate
- Hatch, wipeout, revision clouds, tables & multileaders
- Layers, linetypes, lineweights, layer states & isolation
- Blocks, attributes, block editor & write-block

Workspace 02
3D Modelling
A direct-modelling 3D workspace with a real solid kernel — push/pull faces, follow a profile along a path, and cut solids with true booleans.
- Push/Pull, Follow Me, Intersect Faces & offset in 3D
- Solid booleans: union, subtract, trim, intersect, split, outer shell
- Components & groups with make-unique and an outliner
- Materials, room palettes & a component catalog with packs
- Terrain tools: from contours, from scratch, smoove, stamp, drape
- Orbit, walkthrough, scenes, sections, shadows & draft render

Workspace 03
Structural
An ETABS-style modelling workspace for framing the building — storeys, grids, and the frame and shell elements that sit on them, using Indian material standards.
- Storeys with heights, similar-storey linking & elevations
- Grid systems with labelled lines and auto intersections
- Columns, beams & braces with end releases
- Walls & slabs as shell sections with stiffness modifiers
- Concrete M20–M50, rebar Fe415/500/550, steel E250/350/450
- IS rolled-steel section library & rectangular section builder

Familiar to anyone who has used AutoCAD
Open to a welcome screen with your recent drawings and projects. Start a new one with a proper setup — units, sheet limits, precision, grid and snap — then work on an infinite canvas with the command line driving everything and F1 documenting every command.
Precision & control
- Object snap & ortho mode
- Coordinate entry (x,y and @dx,dy)
- User coordinate systems
- Geometric constraints
- Quick select & match properties
- Audit, purge & overkill cleanup
Built for Indian practice
- Plan symbols at Indian standard sizes
- IS rolled-steel section library
- M20–M50 concrete grades
- Fe415 / Fe500 / Fe550 rebar
- Title blocks from A4 to A0
- North direction & angle base control
Documentation that comes off the model
Objects that know what they are, schedules that count themselves, sheets that publish as a set, and file exchange that keeps consultants on AutoCAD in the loop.
BIM objects
Walls with thickness and height, doors and windows that host into them, levels and structural grids. Detect Plan and Detect Rooms read an existing drawing and propose objects, which you review before committing.
Schedules
Generate schedules off the objects in the model rather than counting by hand, and keep them in step as the drawing changes.
Sheets & layouts
Layouts with model viewports, named views, plot styles, and multi-sheet publishing — so a drawing set leaves as a set, not as loose exports.
DWG & DXF exchange
Import and export both DWG and DXF, so consultants and clients on AutoCAD stay in the loop without a converter in the middle.
Reference underlays
Attach and calibrate a scanned drawing or site photo, then trace walls straight over it to bring legacy paper drawings into the model.
Measure as you draw
Distance with ΔX/ΔY and angle, area of any selection or picked boundary, volume from area × height, block counts, and live readouts in the properties panel.
From local file to versioned project drawing
No more "final_v7_REVISED.dwg" over WhatsApp. Publishing is built in, and every revision is numbered, remarked, and attributed.
01
Draft locally
Work on fast local project files — offline-friendly and autosaved, with crash recovery if the app closes unexpectedly.
02
Publish to a project
Pick any BuilderXPro project you have access to. The first publish links your local file to a project drawing.
03
Every publish is a version
Each publish creates a numbered version with remarks, author, and timestamp — and you can compare two versions visually.
04
Review in place
Pin comments and issues onto the model, share a review link, assign roles, and resolve or approve without leaving the drawing.
Licensing, managed by your org
Your org buys BuilderX Lite or Studio seats per user — on any BuilderXPro plan — and your admin assigns them from the billing console. Only licensed users can sign in, and access is re-verified on every publish.
One model for the entire building lifecycle
2D drafting, 3D modelling, structural framing, BIM objects, schedules, sheets, and DWG/DXF exchange are shipping today. Here is what comes next — clearly on the roadmap, not in the box yet.
Team drawing files with version control
Shared project files in BuilderX Studio with real version history — who changed what, named revisions, and rollback — so a practice can work on the same drawing set without passing files around.
Electrical and plumbing drawings
MEP layers in Studio, drawn on the same model as the architectural set — so a services clash is visible while it is still cheap to fix.
- Electrical layouts with circuits, DBs and load schedules
- Plumbing, water supply and drainage runs
- Fixture and fitting schedules that feed the BOQ
- Services layers toggled per sheet in the drawing set
- Clash visibility against the architectural model
Quantity take-off to BOQ
Measure straight off the model and push the quantities into a BuilderXPro BOQ, instead of re-measuring a drawing someone else produced.
- Wall, floor and finish quantities with opening deductions
- IS 1200-style measurement rules
- Push take-offs straight into BuilderXPro BOQs
- Re-publish diffs that flag quantity changes
- Cost codes and estimate rollups
Structural analysis and design
Analysis and code checking on the model you already drew, rather than rebuilding it in a separate package.
- Load patterns, combinations and mass sources
- Linear static and modal analysis
- IS 456 concrete and IS 800 steel design checks
- Reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules
- Per-member design reports
Structural interoperability
Round-trip the model with the analysis packages your consultants already use.
- ETABS model exchange
- STAAD.Pro model exchange
- IFC structural export
- Round-trip updates from analysis packages
Drafting automation and AI
The repetitive half of drafting — sheet sets, QA passes, status overlays — handled by the software.
- AI drafting assistance and drawing QA checks
- Construction-status overlays from site data
- Client-share views through the Customer Portal
- Automated sheet-set generation from the model

Need drawings to become BOQs, work orders and invoices?
A standalone licence is for drafting on your own machine — it does not publish into a BuilderXPro project. A BuilderXPro plan connects every drawing to estimation, procurement and billing, and your Lite or Studio seat comes with you — the same seat works inside your organisation.
Download for your desktop
One codebase, native installers for both platforms. Install, sign in with your BuilderXPro account, and start working — your org admin assigns the seat.
Running the site from your phone instead? The BuilderXPro mobile app is live on both stores.
Is BuilderX Studio free?
The download is free. Using it requires a BuilderX Lite or Studio seat assigned by your organization admin in BuilderXPro. No plan bundles seats — both tiers are per-user add-ons on every plan, and every organisation can activate a one-time 30-day Studio trial (3 licences) whenever it chooses.
Is this three separate apps?
No — one install, one licence, one project file. You switch between the 2D drafting, 3D modelling, and structural workspaces inside the same application, so the model and the drawing set stay together.
Can it replace AutoCAD for 2D work?
For everyday drafting, yes — the command set, dimension family, layers, blocks, hatch, layouts, and DWG/DXF import-export are all there, driven by the same aliases. Its real advantage is that the output is wired into your projects, versions, and documentation instead of sitting in a folder.
Does the structural workspace run analysis?
Not yet. Today it is a modelling workspace — storeys, grids, columns, beams, braces, walls, and slabs with Indian material grades and the IS section library. Analysis, IS 456 / IS 800 design checks, and ETABS/STAAD exchange are on the published roadmap.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Drawings are local files, so drafting, modelling, and structural work run fully offline. You sign in with your BuilderXPro account and re-authenticate with the web every 7 days; publishing to projects needs a connection.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows (installer .exe) and macOS (.dmg) — one app, both platforms. The BuilderXPro companion mobile app is live on the App Store and Play Store.
